Feature Film Screenplay (complete) or TV series (drama)
The setting-up of a local radio station in a decommissioned lighthouse in the remote seaside village of Creegan, on Scotland's southwest coast provides the setting for this quirky film drama. When the media comes to town it provides a new focus for the village-folk. Some want to be personalities; some are happy to be listeners; some don't want it at all. Headed-up by an out-of-towner, the station, “Lighthouse Rock”, has a lot of groundwork to do before its launch. And what of ADRIAN WEBSTER, the handsome Station Manager, brought in from the big city: how will he settle in to the quiet, rural life? Perhaps not so quiet though, what with the sea, the cliffs, the coastal weather and the locals providing enough drama, comedy, romance and a touch of mystery to keep things moving apace. From emergencies at sea to 21st Century smuggling; from mysterious liaisons in the old graveyard to cliff-top rescues; from family secrets to sabotage; and from venomous snakes to murder: the village seems anything but sleepy! Accompanied by more than 40 chart hits from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, as played on the radio station to reflect the narrative; there's only one question to be asked….Creegan: are you ready to rock?
